Sure you can. Put it in D, shut off tractions control, put one foot on the brake and mash down the gas with the other. It will lock the front wheels up and smoke the rears. In fact, if properly executed, you should almost be able to sit still and smoke the tires as long as you want in an auto where you would have trouble doing the same in a manual (assuming you don't have a separate front brake lever installed).

* DISCLAIMER: I do not personally condone burn outs nor do I take responsibility for the wear on your rear tires after trying the above.

That doesn't exactly make sense. Traction control is what keeps the wheels from spinning in straight line acceleration. StabiliTrak is what keeps the rearend of the car from spinning out in corners. See Wikipedia's definitions:

"A traction control system (TCS)...is designed to prevent loss of traction of the driven road wheels, and therefore maintain the control of the vehicle when excessive throttle is applied by the driver and the condition of the road surface (due to varying factors) is unable to cope with the torque applied.

StabiliTrak uses sensors to detect the difference between the steering wheel angle and the direction you're actually turning and depending on the situation, applies quick, precise force to the appropriate brakes to help the driver control the vehicle’s direction to help keep it on course."

Turning the traction control off should allow you to spin the wheels. Trust me. BTW, once you do it one time, you will want to do it again. Let me just warn you now.

Press and hold the traction control button for 7 seconds.

But please, make sure there are no vehicles, trees, signs, or other random obstacles within 200 feet of you when you decide to have your fun
