Train Track Jumping.
Not to sound immature here but has anyone ever floated the car over the tracks yet? I was leaving the military base I am stationed at and there are some nicely graded tracks about a quarter mile from the exit. It has become a little game I play late at night to see what the sweet spot is for floating it just off the pavement is. I have found after about 60 tries that about 45mph gives me some air time and the car lands on the downward grade perfectly and transfers the weight forward like a motocross racer. It is amazing! You also get the feeling in the pit of your stomach when the car drops out.
Anyone have any similar stories? I am not advocating breaking laws or hurting your car but it is just one of those enjoyable moments in driving when there is a bump in the road. lol Wizzer |

To each his own, but I have too much invested in mine to try and get it airborne.

I hear ya. It happened by accident the first time and the only thing that I feel that might be bad is a little squish of the suspension. No jarring at all. If it didn't sound so childish I would post a video. Anyhow I bet there must be someone here who has felt what I felt.

I knew a kid in high school who thought this was fun. Until he did it one day and his oil pan shot out from under his car upon landing.
His description of how furious his dad was when he got that call frightens me to my core still today, 11 years later. |

lol.
Thats funny. I saw a guy run his car over a curb and tear the oil pan off. He thought it was cute to cut over the curb at high speed. I ran over there to see if it was trashed and the first thing he said was "dude can you fix it?" I was like ... nope call the tow truck. |

Geez, not even worth commenting on other than thinking this is rather silly. I can just imagine people doing this and then going after the railroad or the State for a rough crossing causing damage to their car.
And Yes, I do work for a railroad.

I have jumped cars before. But NOTHING as nice as a camaro. I mean the nicest thing we ever jumped was a 400 dollar ford ranger headed to the scrap heap. We were on my buddies farm back in texas. Got to about 10 feet. Let me tell you, that dont sound like much, but that landing felt like a plane crash.
