BA sound system ... wtf?

I liked the BA sound system but out of the three camaro's we've owned ... all of the systems busted a speaker...

on my SS , I messed with the levels and figured that's what did it. Then my brother's speaker blew , and now last night I was driving and BAM there goes another one !!!

In my Challenger I had the music up full blast all the time with no issues , but with this crap the speakers blow under factory sliders ..

Oh well , i'm getting a bunch of 12's and loosing the back seat I was just curious if I have bad luck?

I don't have a blown speakers, but I've always felt like too much bass is being sent to the door speakers. I have been considering th gmpp subs, but only if they change the way the bass is distributed through the speakers. Anyone one if it does?

I highly doubt it, when I add subs I will buy a low pass filter for all the speakers to remove bass from them

Where did you guys get yours replaced? I feel the same way. I'm starting to think the same thing happened to my rear one because I hear a rattle at times and the bass is on 6 and the volume on 14... what gives? I'd like to get this fixed as soon as possible depending on cost.

Depending on your VIN # there is a TSB that GM will replace speakers in the BA system and the AMP.

The setting you mean is High Pass not low pass, High pass is taking all of the bass away from the speaker, there are three settings on the amp they are

Low pass

All Pass

High Pass

and if you are going to be adding subwoofers, you definitely do not want bass going to your speakers....

No issues yet, and I blast mine, if I blow a speaker, I will just rip it all out and make it better I see mistakes like this as an chance to make it better. Glass half full boys!

TSB is for cars under 56K and change.

I got this "fix" on friday and it is much worse now then it was.
The new speakers have ZERO bass, and they still distort if the volume gets over 23.

I had to keep my bass below 3 before the fix, now it doesn't matter where it is, there isn't any coming from the front of the car now. I'm going back in again to see what can be done to fix the fix. Not impressed.
