I leave for boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois in 2 weeks.
I'm in the Navy, i DEPed in on July 28th of this year.
I'm going into Aircrew ( HEY CHEWIE!!! coming at ya here soon)
perhaps i could join in on a poker game one day??? lol

anyways, im making a career out of the Navy.
my goal is to become an officer so that i can be a fighter pilot.
my dream is to fly. and particularly the F-22 Raptor!

since im doing this the new camaro will have to wait.
but in the meantime. ill be working on my 78 camaro.
my dad will continue working on her while im gone.
im hoping to be able to bring her to a car show with you guys once shes finished. ive got a few pics of her in my garage^^^.

Congrats and good luck, I went there almost 15 years ago. You will have fun in the Navy, I know I did. And if you go to Thailand make sure to use protection.

Fighter pilot...was a dream of mine when I was a boy. Then, I was told I was going to be too big... So, I kept with the dream I now live in....being a police officer.

Good luck to you, man. Keep with it and don't let anyone tell you you can't do it. If you have the right mindset, you can accomplish anything!

Congrats on the career choice and good luck, the military can be a very fulfilling experience.

However, on the goal to fly the F-22, aren't you joining the wrong service if that is the fighter you want to fly?

I am Air Force myself, and unless I am mistaken the Navy doesn't have any 22's.

Anyways, again Good Luck and have fun while doing it. The military has been good to me for 14 years so far.

i am aware of that little quirk. its just the aircraft i want to pilot the most.
im not sure if the navy has it or not. but i dont think they do.
we have to have our aircraft with the ability to fold some of their wings a bit, and the Raptor doesnt do that. Yet i hope. lol.

The navy will actually have thier own version of the JSF which will be better then the f22

^Yeah, focus on the JSF, That is going to be one badass fighter. By the way, don't mess around, you are one in probably 50,000 people, and only like 5% of them get chosen to continue onward. Good luck to you, I wish i could do that, but i wanted to go the air force, but since i have ADD (which they consider a disability now

) they pretty much gave me a big FU, It really sucks.
