2011 Hurst Short throw option

I ordered my 2011 1SS/RS this eve officially and added the Hurst Short throw shifter option (KAE). The dealer mentioned that this will probably make the production time longer because it is still not officially available to install yet on the factory line? Anyone know anything about this? Thanks for any insight.

*UPDATE*

6-26-2010

Ok so I couldn't wait any longer! I dropped the Hurst option and car should go to production much sooner now. Decided it is not worth the wait. I will explore the aftermarket options later.

Yes, you'll be waiting 4 weeks or more...

It is on constraint:

GREATER Than 4 Weeks Pending Engineering Validation

Thanks for the info guys! I am in a rare position where I would benefit if the car took longer to get here. So hopefully it won't be outrageously delayed! Thanks again.

Sorry to say, I couldn't wait. I put the Hurst Short Throw in myself. Either way, It is a significant improvement.

I think it is a $380 option. Slightly higher than if I bought aftermarket. Then install time. To me only difference is it will be factory.

I suppose to some people it might be steep. Paying for the Hurst name and quality. To each his own.

Heck I paid $324 for mine through the local speed shop and did my own install. This is 2010 not 1966. The price is about what one would expect nowadays.

"Pending engineering validation"? WTF is the problem? They offered this option back in October 2008 for ordering (which I originally selected and had to remove), and more than a year and a half later they don't have their ducks in a row for this?? They should just drop the whole Hurst option and be done with it.. My money is on you waiting a lot more than 4 weeks for that option.

Have them delete it and do it yourself... I went with MGW myself...better quality and it's an entire unit swap verses just the knuckle...

I believe the factory Hurst is an entire unit swap as well, not like the current Hurst aftermarket shifter.
