question for dealers - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I put my deposit down and my order in october and i called my dealer today asking if he had an order confirmation number... and he said that he hadnt gotten them from chevy for any of his orders. is it possible chevy didnt send them yet or does this mean he hasnt placed the orders?

If he ordered your car, he should have a 6 digit alpha-numeric code to give you. Ask him to print out your order confirmation...a 1 minute task for him.

Sounds like he didn't order it yet. WorkBench gives them a number when they enter the preorder.

I think that we can all agree that your dealer is an idiot. Demand that number or your money back.

yea...you should definitely have an order confirmation #...the dealer gets it the minute they submit your order.

ok... i talked to the manager and he said that he did place the order and actually did give me a preliminary order number.. it consisted of 6 letters.. this sound right?

oh yea..and ps.. is there a site u can check ur number out with?

That's correct. Don't think there's any way to independently verify it. You're kinda at your dealer's mercy. You could ask him to print out the confirmation and give it to you as well for further satisfaction however they can still cancel your order at any time if they feel like it.

does that apply in canada as well? Neither me or Hylton have not gotten confirmation numbers.

6 digit (alphanumeric) order number is correct. And no, there is currently no place to track your order online. There probably will be as we get closer to production though.
