Recaros in a 2013 ZL1 Convertible?
Anyone swap Recaros into a ZL1 Convertible? I have a 2013 and would like to add them. They never came from the factory, and I was wondering if there was a specific reason.

They weren't available as an option until 2014.

 LOL! I was going to answer the same exact way. "They weren't offered until 2014 (in coupes only).". I'm glad I didn't, I would've gotten a reprimanded too. Anyways, I do believe it has to do with the side-curtain airbags. I'd like to install them in my vert!

I will avoid the tension in this thread and add my 2 cents...
I understand they will physically fit in a vert. But as RH96ss points out, the lack of side airbags in a vert creates a problem. Basically, the side airbag “wires” would have no where to go, so the other airbags might not work properly. I wouldn’t want to mess with that, but I would truly LOVE to have Recaros in my ‘13 vert. I think I read on here somewhere that someone’s has done it, though. Don’t remember for sure. Anyone else know? It’s one of the only reasons I would consider a different Camaro. But I love IOM verts, so I’m 100% out of luck. Lol... |
