Lightweight drag brakes

Who has swapped out the front or rear Camaro SS Brembo brakes for a lightweight drag brakes setup? How's it feel on the street cruising around town if I need to stop normally? Also what's the weight savings front or rear? I've seen Baer and Aerospacehave kits available

you could also check out the brake package Carlyle Racing has: https://www.carlyleracing.com/produc...ood-brake-kit/

or their full 15" conversion:

I've got Carlyle's out back and aerospace up front. Not really noticing any difference on the street. Aerospace says 40lbs up front. Not sure on the Carlyle rears but they are definitely lighter. I can still stop at the end of the 1/8th clocking 119 so they're still good brakes.

I just bought the drag aerospace front kit. they're not vented so no street use for me anymore. total kit weight is 27lbs.

for street driving the pro street kit is vented and comes in at 37lbs

I got the pro street kit. Our shut down isn't very long at the track so I wanted to make sure it had the braking power to stop this tank lol

according to them it's over 50lbs. I'll have to weigh everything and report back actual weight loss.

and that is for both sides total... pads, rotors, and calipers

Stock Brembos weight

Hey fellas,

I have attached a picture of the list of exact weights of all the stock Brembos stuff. I took this off my personal car when I was swapping to V6 brakes.

I couldn't find solid weights online before I did them, so I hope this helps anyone out.

Peace,
Ben

Just wanted to update if any one is wondering about the weight reduction of the aerospace street front brakes and carlyle 15" brakes (v6 rotor? and wilwood caliper)

aerospace front street rotor is 10.2lbs
aerospace front street caliper is 3.6lbs without pads
total 13.4lbs

carlyle rear 15" rotor is 16.2lbs
carlyle rear wilwood caliper is 3.6lbs without pads
total 19.8lbs

total saving off the front is approx 43lbs and off the rear is approx 20lbs
front rotational 30lbs less
rear rotational 13lbs less

Also weighed my weld wheels with radials before and after switching to bias ply 17 front and 15 bias ply rear

17x5 weld rts with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R Radial 28X6R17LT 40lbs
17x5 weld rts with M&H Front Runner Drag Tire 28.0"x4.5"-17 dot bias ply 33lbs

17x10 weld rts with m&h 325/45r17 radial 52lbs
15x10 weld rts with mickey thompson et street r bias ply 28x11.50-15 39lbs

I've had MC's rear brakes for a few years, stops just fine.
