Need Springs for Stock Cam

Long story short, I had a over rev last year on the track, Nothing happened, car runs perfectly, had the valve cover off by a mechanic who knows his stuff, he said the drive train looks good, nothing loose, engine sounds good, no weird ticking etc....

I drove the car for about 1,000-1500.00KM since the event, I also ran twice after pushing the car to the limits and nothing happen.

It's probably safe to say, I dodged a bullet (I think I was riding the clutch, Never dumped it)

However, I want to change the springs when I take the car out, for some peace of mind because it's all I think about, I'm worried I may have overstressed the stock LS3 springs (Yellow Beehives) and future failure is imminent.

I've done my research, and everyone seems to recommend the BTR .660.

I have spoken with them through Facebook Messenger and they said it won't cause excessive wear on the valve train.

Wondering if anyone here runs these springs with a stock cam?

I don't plan on camming the car, just headers, exhaust, intake.

Trying to keep it nice and timid as possible.

Would you guys recommend the .660 Platinum Double Springs?

I talked with my tuner and he said I shouldn't worry, I should leave the stock LS3 springs and worry about other mods.

I just know I'd kick my self in the ass if 1 spring let go, and took the motor with it.

I would not run too much springs like that on stock cam. I would get a better spring like PSI 1511; look for LazerMontana he has run stock cam at 7200 with it, but he had a free reving 15lbs clutch, not much accessories on the crank, Ti retainers and maybe pushrods.

Bottom line is do not run too much springs, its not a case of "too much is a good insurance". Weak stock cam and harsh springs is not a good idea.

I would run a good light steel retainer for added strength if you put a lot of miles on the car track/street.

FYI I am running thr old TSP 650' springs doubles on my 231 236 640 615 and I want to rev to 7400 and ask some shops for a better springs and got the 660 version of each companies as an anwers. We are not in the same boat by any means...

Yes unfortunately we still have the stock LS3 camshaft on our 2010 Camaro SS. I installed the Comp Cams Beehive valve springs with the Comp Cams steel retainers for the stock valve stem size. I am able to safety run to 7000-7100 rpm using the stock LS3 camshaft after the tune it has held up very well. If you have to opportunity why not install a very mild camshaft?? I found that there are mild Stage 1 camshafts for sale out there from reputable vendors simpler to the TSP Stage 1 N/A camshaft that put the same to similar wear on the drivetrain. Your LS3 engine will not just self destruct as you are describing. The only way I have seen major damage to the LS3 was from the pushrods or valve stem bending and causing further engine damage. You will not see very good rwhp or rwtq gains from just simple bolt ons like exhaust unless you install at least a mild Stage 1 N/A camshaft. In the near future I would like to install a custom TSP N/A camshaft.

PSI1511 with tool steel retainers get some longer push rods. I turned my stock cam 7200 numerous times with miss shifts it seen 7900 lol a valve never touched a piston

I have done 2 LS3 that made 450 SAE with bolt ons and 1.85 rockers. Camaro went 11.5 @ 120 and the vette went 10.5@131. You can make great power with these things if you just free them up.
