3.27 to 3.91 gears in A6

Just curious. I have a 2010 A6 with most major bolt-ons and suspension stuff (trailing arms/toe rods and bushings) and stock 3.27 gears (no stall converter or cam though). Right now I'm running about 12.99 ET in 2100' DA with stock gears. If I upgrade to 3.91 gears this summer/fall, how much will my E.T drop? Next spring I plan on installing a Eaton True-Trac and Cradle Bushings.

Thanks

If you can maintain traction, the gears would easily put you in the 12.70 range.

I went from 13.2 to 12.90 after adding 3.91 gears to my A6. I just have bolt ons. 60 ft was a tenth quicker.

There are a lot of factors to take into consideration like altitude, weather, driver, track conditions etc etc.

Been years, but in best test conditions I think it was 13.2 or so

Chevy advertised the 2010 with LS3 as 13.0@111.
The L99 was quicker 0-60, but ~0.3 slower in the 1/4. IIRC.

I’d go converter before gears.

Look at the mods in my sig. No gears needed for the A6. 1.6 60ft is all you need to know.

Had one car....converter before gears, and a similar car with gears and no converter.

Overall drivability......went to gears w/no converter.

Yes....I do place value on the quality of the drive for the 10,000 miles per year that I drive OFF the track.

Jus' sayin'.

Converter before gears if you plan to track it. My L99 went 11.90s with headers, converter, OTR intake and drag pack full weight. This was back in 2013. Just depends what all you want to do and what direction you'd prefer to take. I waited until I did heads and a cam to swap gears went from 10.70s to 10.40s with a gear swap and seats out NA
