2013 SS Camaro (L99) Transmission Failure

Hi so I made a forum post awhile ago. I took my car to a shop and ordered a brand new L99 Long block off of GM Performance. The vehicle got towed by a ‘flatbed’ and by that the guy didn’t use it. He just lifted my camaro up from the front end and towed it so that way so the rear wheels were on the ground. It was towed for 14 miles until it got to the shop. The auto shop issued that tow from a company they partner with. Anyways. They did the swap and I get a phone call 3 days later saying the engine runs but the car won’t switch gears and that I’ll need a new tranny. They checked the fluid and it was Black. What I want to make sure is that I didn’t do anything to destroy the tranny. Here’s a copy and paste of what exactly happened when my engine seized. The shop also said that they’re doing to look inside to tranny to see who caused it (Them, Towing Company, or me) and I don’t know what exactly they’ll be looking for

“ Driving on freeway and the engine shut off completely.(It also was in a higher RPM when it seized) (there was no load pop or noise whatsoever is just stopped) and tried starting it multiple times. a burning smell but like wires (it was the starter trying to work, starter still works got it tested)got it towed home checked the starter then got a breaker bar and tried pulling on the crankshaft pully and the dreaded thing of it not moving. Day after we pulled out the plugs for a couple hours then tried turning it over again and it moves but not how it should. Then got a breaker bar and moved it again but it should move smooth and not rough but still rather difficult to turn. Put all the plugs back and still the same. Check the oil filter and removed all the oil and only found very fine metallic particles (very fine but no clumps of Metal and got a magnet and pulled some of the metallic particles off. I was reading that it is very rare but the oil pump can fail and cause this ”

Also the car had a transmission fluid flush two weeks prior to it seizing. Would my engine seizing destroy the tranny.

Towing an automatic transmission isn't good for it but I don't know if 14 miles would ruin it. If the engine truly seized while running at highway speeds (I'm not sure how likely that is), something would have to give if the back tires didn't lock. Whether that would be the transmission or torque convertor, I don't know. You might want to talk to some one that rebuilds the 6l80e transmission. Maybe Gwatney, Circle D Transmissions or Tim King.
