Clicking sound
Before I rip my console apart(started, then stopped). I'm sure one of you could steer me in the right direction. I've been driving the car regularly since it's been nice out for a couple of weeks. Anyway, it's an automatic(I know, BOOOOOOOOOOOO) and today I turned the car on and every time I put my foot on the brake, I could hear a clicking(sounds like a relay) sound. I took the car out for a short drive with no issues. The car only makes this noise in PARK, any other gear, no click. I've never heard noise before and it's coming from right under the shift knob. Thanks and I will wait for the next command.

theres also a thread in here that will show you how to disable this feature by disconnecting a plug in the steering column.had the solenoid and shifter replaced under warranty.when they wanted 400 bucks to do it again the next year out of warranty i unplugged it.look up "cant get key out of car"

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, it does sound like a loud solenoid but it's interesting in the manual about the "shift lock release" which isn't my problem but this is good to know if your battery is running low. I'll keep taking ideas but the car it running fine and if it's the shifter like redcoats1976 says, I'll try to check the "car key issue". Keep any idaes coming because I'm going to let it sleep for the night. If there are any changes, I know it's electrical most likely. Thanks guys.

Well, had the whole shifter out and other than a loud solenoid(which is usually a good sign), the car seems fine. I guess I'll have to put up with that clicking sound when I get out of park. Thanks guys for the help.

Thanks redcoats1976. There's a lot I could say here but I love my car the way it is. There's always a few of them on every forum. Anyway, went back to the car and saw exactly what you were talking about with the ignition wire. The brake being in park and getting the key out all seem to be connected. Thanks again man for everything.

Oh, I thought we were getting into an argument, so I figured I would poke the bear. I don't really have anything against 6cyl.
