Need to replace valve cover gaskets and unsure of the difference
Hello, my driver's side valve cover gasket has started leaking and I'm planning to replace it. I'm unsure what the difference is between the 2 different felpro gaskets on the market. I've attached a picture with both gaskets.
Does anyone know if I'll need to use any RTV, or whether the felpro gaskets will fully seal it themselves? I'm hoping not to have to use RTV as I haven't ever had particularly good luck with it. |

You want the 50888R gasket for a 2013. Chevy redesigned them to minimize the oil loss from crankcase and your 2013 came with the redesigned cover and gasket. No rtv sealant should be required. Not much torque on those gaskets though, 89 in pounds I believe on the bolts. And they need to be tightened in a particular order. I just posted a diagram in another thread with those instructions if you can search for it.
