Motor build for boost
So I just threw a rod through my oil pan and bent two lifters at the track not long ago. So now I'm looking at doing a full build for high boost. I'm just wondering if the block is OK, which it seems it is. If I should build the aluminum block or go with an iron block. A 6.0 or similar.

Iron 6.0 block and a set of rods/pistons will be enough. 365-370 cubes and send it

I'd say you'd be incredibly lucky for the block to be ok after throwing a rod.
If you don't mind the weight, just go iron, although a well built LSA or LS3 based block would be fine depending on what's available these days |

It was at 900 on the dyno but was dialed back to 830 over concerns of the transmission and rear end. It was only at 700 on the pull that killed it.

You need an aftermarket block and good parts an off the shelf twin kit isn't gonna do it. Budget about 25-30k for a reliable longblock alone

I dont think stock sleeves would last long at that level.

https://www.thompsonmotorsports.net/...product_id=558 I got my 1300hp dart long block package from them for about $10-$11k. They have guys making 1700whp on this "1300hp" setup with turbos. It seems like it might be do-able for less than $25-30k, but then again, you have done it, and I haven't.

I didn't plan on having anything stock on the motor. I just wasn't sure how long an aluminum block, even sleeved would would last at that power.
