Wheel etching
Does anyone know if these etchings are from the factory or what they might be for? Just curious, as I bought a spare set of the polished aluminum Alcoa wheels to have on hand. Thanks in advance!!!

I have the engravings on my original 5-spoke wheel set but not on the dealer bought second set.

Just a guess, someone engraved the lic plate so if they were stolen...
Edit: or last numbers of VIN as above Last edited by silversleeper; 01-15-2022 at 11:16 PM. |

Two good ideas. It definitely isn’t the vin, but unsure of the plate. I don’t think it’s that either, because I asked the person I bought them from if he knew. Who knows, maybe just something the factory did, as the other member said he has it on his OEM set

The etching are indeed from the factory. Here's a photo of one of mine off my ZL1.
