Blend door actuator setting.

So I installed a heater core bypass valve. Thread here:

Heater core bypass.

I then set the temp control to dead center on the dash and unplugged the actuator. My thought is I can still use the heat by using the interior switch to the bypass valve when needed. Shouldn’t make a difference when using AC as I’ll have the heat off via the bypass, so door position should be out of play. Am I thinking this correctly?

Thanks

You should be able to produce and control heat temp somewhat by using the bypass valve. I would think that by having the blend door half open it will reduce the VOLUME of both heat and a/c flowing thru the vents to half Max but not affect/vary the temp of either but rather maintain a constant temperature of both. Maybe put a thermometer on one of the vents to check that temps stay constant regardless what the fan setting is.
