New Z06 and SS calipers. Paint question.

Well, I just bought a set of C7 Z06 front calipers and a new set of SS rear calipers for mu car. I plan to sand off the Corvette part, repaint, and add a new decal. Maybe Chevrolet or Brembo or both? Anyone know where to find larger high temp decals for these?

My main question is for the rear SS calipers. I’m going to paint them red and put on the decals I have. The way they come seems to be more of a dark gray primer. Can I just paint over these since they are brand new or should I sand them down? It honestly doesn’t feel like paint at all.

Thanks!

The current high temp stickers I have are for the SS front calipers. I’m thinking they are too small for these larger calipers. Thoughts?

If you're going to put the same decals on the front and the back, I think I like the idea of them looking like a set. Sure, it's not as big as the current lettering; but, I don't think it's to small.

are these direct bolt on for the 5gens? besides the longer brake line and rotor.....is that it? I was looking at the Cadillac brakes since they seem to be less $$ then zl1 calipers but haven't looked at what else is needed yet....besides paint haha

Ps: any specific year for these c7 z06 brakes to fit?

If you have the ZL1 brake lines, the ZL1 rotors, and new brake caliper bolts, they will bolt right up to to the SS.
I believe the dust shield will have to be modified/removed for non 1LE 5th Gens.

Any year C7 Z06 will work.

ZL1 dust shields are hard to find. SS dust shield holds too much heat in, so either fab one on don't run one IMO.

the ctsv calipers are nicely priced for 6 pots, quick paint job and theyd match nicely!

Im getting mine powder coated but im very convened. They brought them to me and all the pistons were extended out fully and some had come out the seals. now im concerned the seals are compromised.

The CTS-V calipers are the same as the Z06, the main difference being the Z06 has vented pistons for better heat management.

I just finished painting the rear calipers. I have the front ones painted, but I haven’t received the new decals yet. Once those arrive, I will apply them and then put on the clear coat.

I used VHT caliper paint. I did primer them with the VHT flameproof gray primer first.
It’s all about the prep. Taped off everything that shouldn’t be painted. Then sprayed away!
