DIC top not secure message
Every time I open the convertible top , go for a ride, shut the engine off, then restart the engine I get a top not secure message in the dic screen. The only way to get the message off is to press the top down switch until the audible tone sounds. Most annoying part is the constant dinging plus the fact that the trunk release won’t work until you try and lower the top again . Any insight would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance

Unplug the sensor behind the left side carpet in trunk.

Not sure if this ever got resolved but I was having the same problem after pulling the overhead console trim panel to add the door opener (1ss didn't come with this feature). After adding the door opener buttons/harness from a car that had it, I was getting the exact same problem.
Turns out I forgot to plug in the connector that goes to the sensor on the drivers side inside the overhead console. |

Thanks Jeffrop, I do still have that problem. However I have discovered that if I don’t put the tonneau cover on the message does not always appear. I had this problem when the car was still under warranty and the dealership replaced the passenger side lift cylinder which apparently also has a micro switch in it. I have disconnected the trunk shelf switch but that didn’t make any difference. I suspect that there is a faulty switch or poor connection somewhere. On a side note, the frame of the top has always ridden higher than the driver side. I’ve seen where others on here have had that issue also.
