Battery Disconnected for Winter Storage
Hello, I stored my 2016 SS last November for the winter. I found a great deal in a little garage underneath a building. When we took it there the guy said that he had to disconnect the battery for his insurance reasons. We got the last spot and if we didn't take it that day we would lose it. Otherwise I would have asked to come back with in one of those devices that you plug into the computer port and keeps a little voltage to the brains. So now we are picking it back up tomorrow and I am worried that it is going to be messed up from having no battery for 5 months. Am I going to have issues?

I wouldn’t expect any problems with the electronics. If the trunk lid is closed then you’ll need to go through the folding back seat to pull the trunk release handle or use some sort of jump start battery to power the car. There are jumper posts in the engine compartment that you can access without power to the car.

I had now 3 winters disconnected.(4-5 months)
Not any problems with the electronics. Door glasses must be relearned, the clock on the radio goes to the right time when it gets the rds signal. |

Good move on the blanket to keep the trunk from latching! Just connect your battery. The only thing you will need to do is re-index the windows one at a time. Hold the down button on the driver side first until it is all the way down, hold for about 1-2 seconds, same on the up function, hold it at the top, then do the passenger window the same way. The key is to hold the button at the very bottom, and top for the 1-2 second count, or you might have to do it a second time. You might, or might not have to reset the clock, and you WILL have to reset the date. Good luck and enjoy your Camaro!!
