So I have the infamous hot start issue that has plagued these cars. I've battled mine for about 1 1/2 years. I've been through 3 starters, 2 of them being AC- Delco. I have added the 2nd ground to the drivers side off of the cylinder head. No Luck.
Last year i drove home from work (about an hour and a half drive. Went into CVS, came out to a hot start. Car barely turned over then ping ping ping ping ping. The bad start somehow dropped a valve in cylinder 7. Had to get the heads machined and the valve reseated along with stage 2 Brian Tooley Racing springs as well as upgraded valves etc. . Had West Coast Racing cylinder heads in Van Nuys do the job ($1900 for machining and 2K for RR!) They killed it i must say but it costs! So be careful starting the car while its hot if you still have these issues. Got the car back together and she runs great but still has the hot start issues. My question is this....So i have seen some Camaro enthusiasts on here say they installed a bypass cable on the positive terminal under the hood and that solved their issue for good. Anybody have a good write up on this procedure as everyone who says they did it only posted pics of the finished job. anyone have good instructions on how to add a by-pass cable to the positive terminal under the hood? MAN any help would be appreciated!

Have you did a extra ground on the battery to the body? That along with the extra ground from the bellhousing to the frame solved this problem for me. Also what kind of battery do you have?

I can try a high trq starter. I'm assuming you're modded?

Spammer reported. As for the question: I've heard that the bypass cable on the positive terminal could be a solid fix, but I haven't tried it myself.

Naw I don’t have long tubes. I’m in LA it’s and it’s my only car. Just not worth the headache of state refs. So I have stock manifolds. Stage 2 port and polish, intake and exhaust so more air is flowing but nothing crazy to be producing that much heat. Idk man

Have you looked at the ground in the trunk?

Yeah after reading through some forums I decided to wire brush all of my grounds. So yesterday I hit the pigtail really good as well as its ground points. Also hit my battery ground really good too. There was quite a bit of leaves and debris but nothing super crazy. . Have yet to test it out but I feel like it may not solve the problem. We’ll see.

I may go back and reinstall the bell housing one. Maybe it need a second look bc I don’t feel like I had it in a good spot on the chassis

Yeah to the passenger side bottom bellhousing bolt and right across from there to the passenger side frame rail there should be a bolt in the frame you can for your chassis mount. I'll try and get you a picture in a day or two.

That would be much appreciated. So you’re saying that the bell housing ground along with the drivers side ground out of cylinder head solved your problem? I see some guys say the grounds fixed there and some not. I feel like I didn’t choose a good spot on the bell housing. I can’t see why some cars are getting fixed with extra grounds and some not. It’s so strange.
