Detroit Speed suspension help
I just installed a used set (7k miles on them) of DSE coilovers on my 2010 Camaro. The front is the race kit with camber plates and double adjustable. The rear are also double adjustable with DSE toe links and trailing arms.
My issue is the front end sounds like something is loose over every little bump. I double checked everything. Is this normal since there no longer any rubber bushings at the strut tower? The instructions sucked so I guessed at the front preload. The spring does not move around but I can turn it by hand when the suspension is unloaded. Do I need to add more preload to the front? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

That stinks. The only thing I can think of is if you didn’t secure the strut shaft with a wrench on the wrench flats while torquing the top nyloc nut. If you did that, I’m clueless. I don’t think the spring preload would make the noise you describe, unless it was loose enough to move by hand under load. Give DSE a call in the morning if you don’t figure it out by then. Good luck.
