Driver's door trunk release not working FIXED - OPERATOR ERROR

So where do I start looking for an issue? It worked fine before the battery/alternator crapped out, but when I tried to use it the other day - nothing. I had to use the trunk release on the remote.

Any ideas?

Mine sometimes takes a few punches before the trunk unlatches. I figure a funky contact in the switch but haven’t done any investigation yet.

I'm not TOO worried about it at the moment ... at least not until my remote falls apart like the last one

I have to do the same here as you. Not a problem as of yet.

A small squirt of regular old WD40 will fix that button. After applying WD40, work the button about 20 times. Cleans of the contacts and frees up contacts.

Switch was bad on mine. I just pulled the panel and replaced it.

It's working now. Either *I* forgot to FULLY depress the button - OR - I forgot to hold it in for a quick second.

I tried pulling out my switch with a plastic trim removal tool and for the life of me cannot remove it. Looks like the door panel has to come off on my end. How did you do it?
