15 Camaro SS key won't come out of ignition
When I put car in park key sometimes won't go back and release unless I hit automatic shifter toward frt of car then key will release out of ignition... is that maybe a adjustment under shifter? And how to or is it a new ignition switch? Thanks John

I encountered this issue. For me, I disconnected the solenoid that holds the key in place. Can't recall the specific process, but I know that it was easy, quick (15-30 minutes), and didn't require me to order any parts. I haven't noticed any issues as a result of the change.
If you do this, make sure that nobody ever pulls out your key while driving. It'll supposedly lock the steering wheel in place. Relevant forum post: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567161 Edit: Here is a video that shows the process:

I’ve had my shifter replaced once under warranty for this problem and it has started happening again. There are several potential workarounds and fixes, but I thought this was the best explanation and potential fix for the issue:
https://youtu.be/sETuCmaTLhY For now, I’ve been doing the following if the key gets stuck: 1) Turn key back to “on” position (don’t need to start the car) 2) Place foot on brake (car can stay in Park) 3) Squeeze the silver shift release button at the top of the shifter several times rapidly 4) Key should be able to be released at this point If this ever stops working, I will probably try the procedure in the video. Key stuck in ignition
So I researched the crap out of this. Installed a new ignition switch and didn't work. Found a useful video the take apart the shifter trim to get to the shifter switch.
https://www.google.com/search?q=cama...id:59kfjhXDF0Q Problem for me was the damn 25cent Chinese shifter switch is bad. I searched all over and can't find a replacement switch and it does not have a part number. As you can see I jumped the 2 wires but I don't like rigging things like this, especially when I give this car to my daughter. Started happening around 40,000 miles. Key comes out all the time but issue is you can be in any gear and remove the key. Only good thing is once in park and key is removed shifter stays in park. Was anyone able to find this piece of crap switch? Only other option is to spend $165+ for the entire shifter but a buddy of mine did that and 2,000 miles later he had the same problem. Thats called a limit switch/micro switch you will probably have to modify one depending how it mounts. Don't worry about AC or DC ratings just amps.
