lol, where have you been hiding?? All the V8 L99 A6 Camaros since 2010 have it from the factory. That's how they got around the "gas guzzler" gvt tax.. Everybody knows that on here!!

wow, really !? i was so close to buying a V8 , that wouldve definitely sealed the deal against a V8.
I HATE techie bullshite like that added to otherwise good engines and would have to open her up and physically delete that junk!

Yep. It was one of the stupidest things they did to the A6 Camaros, AND all the trucks too with auto trans. AFM/DOD is what they called it. Active Fuel Management/ Displacement On Demand... The AFM lifters were, and are the weakest link in the L99 Camaros. Some folks had issues with them, some folks such as myself sis not, and I drove the snot out of her up to 19k when I had it tuned out with the header install and dyno tune done, then drove her with the AFM lifters still in there up to 98k when we did the cam swap and replaced them with the GM Performance lifters. Gotta say as hard as I drove my Camaro, I was lucky and NEVER had an issue with the stock AFM lifters, I was always hitting the rev limiter by accident with them still in.So you never know. I wouldn't let that take away your thunder for wanting a V8 though.
