Major Problem.. What Now??

Soo, I’ve found a major problem.
There’s a crack in the block where the idle sprocket goes.
Primary chain was completely broken.
I have the other half. I’ve tried JB Weld, doesn’t work.
I’ve tried a bigger screw. Not working.
I’m clueless.. thinking about selling at this point.

Any tips or advice?

There will not be a good fix for that if that cracked boss is part of the block. I don’t know if it is as I am not familiar with the motor. Picture makes it look like it is.

Time to source a junkyard motor for the cheaper fix. Crate motor if opposed to junkyard parts.

That's a head, not the block. (Refer to the other thread he started)

You should take it to a shop and have the head replaced. I'd seriously look into value/reward. That's an expensive fix- probably around $5000. Hopefully you didn't buy it like that.

The crack is in the block.. (refer to arrow in picture below) .. it’s where the sprocket goes. Can’t install sprocket due to this crack.. I’m thinking bout selling the car. It’s a V6, great body, comes with all the features. I just don’t think replacing the motor is worth it financially right now.. I hate that this has happened.

Damn that blows. Best of luck with it. That would be a huge kick in the shorts to me. Kinda sucks that it’s pretty easy to LS swap everything except for the cars that had LS engines as an option…
