2015 Camaro SS Green Flash
Hey everyone......some opinions needed.
I was/am a Trans Am guy.....but Pontiac left me so I moved on to Vettes When I had Neck surgery I could no longer get into a Vette moved onto 5th gen Camaros I am on my 3rd 5th gen Camaro. I had a 2010 Blue with silver stripes RS/SS 6 speed. Loved the car but it drove like a marshmallow suspension. Moved up to a 2014 Red Rock Metallic SS 1LE 6 speed that was worked a bit and had 500RWHP....loved this car. Then I was hit with M.S. and no longer have feeling in my feet so I was scared driving a stick in hush hour traffic as I didn't want to worry about rear-ending the car in front of me every day. So I traded it in on a loaded 2015 Green Flash Edition RS/SS Auto. Just passed 50000miles and am worried about AFM lifters....they're not an issue right now but I've read horror stories. I want stock wheels back, but the only other thing I do not like is that the Boston stereo makes everything sound like the Metallica And Justice For All mix. Almost ZERO bass. I was looking at under seat subs, but folks say they won't fit. I NEVER use my back seat, how about the floor behind the front seats? do you think there's enough room? |

Believe me, I get it about the Muscle Car thing. I'm from the Smokey and the Bandit generation and have been all about muscle cars my whole life. I do drive it like I stole it as long as I'm the only one in the car but drive a little more tamely when the wife or anyone else is with me. Thank you for the reassurance about the lifters, I am pretty anal about my fluid changes so I do feel a little better. Before this car I hadn't driven an automatic since mid 2000. After that everything was manual. LS1, LS1, LS3, LS3, LS3 and now my auto has the L99.
The person who owned my car before me put Black 22" wheels on all 4 corners and I just can't stand the ride quality or handling. I put a strut tower brace in and that helps a little, but I really want to go back to the 21" Chrome wheels or a 20" version of the same wheels......impossible to come by. I may have M.S. and can't do it the way I used to.....but I'm still the same car dude! |

I have a set of Green Flash OEM wheels with new tires for sale. The rims are a good driver condition with no corrosion and the tires are Bridgestone's with less than 300 miles on them. I am located in Central MI though.

As far as DOD/AFM? My 5.3L 2014 Sierra has 180k mi on the clock and not an issue. Only time my truck sees 4cyl is when I let off the gas or going down a hill. I change my own oil every 7500mi. I thought at 150k it was a collapsed lifter. Come to find out it was an exhaust leak. Mechanic said everything looked great engine wise. So not all of them collapse. And I was quoted $6k to delete the hydraulic lifters and install cam. But at 180k? Too many miles

My stock early '10 SS L99 now has 72,000 miles. Almost 15 years old and never a sound from the lifters, or any drone with the muffler delete Solo J/Pipe exhaust i put on when the car was new. 20 oil changes may have helped.

you should look for one of these for your bass needs.
these are made to fit tucked into one side of your trunk.
JL Audio SB-GM-CAM/12W6v3: Stealthbox® for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro these ARE pricey but it would work Last edited by Chaumaro; 03-09-2024 at 12:38 AM. Reason: wrong item |
