Separate clutch resevoir (master cylinder plug)
For those that did a separate clutch reservoir and didn't buy the $50 kit, what did you choose for plugging the original port on the master?

I am. I have the correct reservoir. The kit isn’t the only “correct” way. It’s just overpriced reservoir, hose, and bracket. I can get those things easy enough. Just deciding best method of plug.

Rubber cap and zip tie.. works just fine. I did however just buy the kit. 40$ to my door. By the time I tried piecing my own, it was a couple of dollars less.

It's $50 now plus shipping. I have zero problem spending money on the car. It's a toy that requires cash. Heck, I just got done putting several thousand in the drive train. No biggie. I just get annoyed when I see something like this where a few basic parts at gathered and the "kit" price feels high. |

I have the G8 reservoir on one and a Wilwood on the other. Rubber cap on both with no leaks. I think the G8 kit came with the rubber cap and I just pulled one out of parts drawer on the Wilwood.

I picked up a G8 reservoir. And yeah, just noticed it's shipped with a little snap on cap. It seems to be air tight, so can probably use that and be done.

The Metal clamp that came with the kit i could not no matter what I did get it on the Rubber cap. I did use a zip tie and have no issues unless i try to use my power bleeder.

I just took off the reservoir and used my little propane torch. I melted it shut and reformed it and now there’s just a plastic nipple there and cost me nothing.
