Smog check: Missing hood emissions decal
Will I be able to pass emissions in CA, even with missing the OEM GM/Chevrolet under hood emissions info decal? My car was re-sprayed/re-painted in various areas and had multiple body panels, including the hood and trunk to be replaced. I’m not sure since it looks like it’s a hit and miss, although I’m assuming it’s a lot stricter since the last 1-4 years have passed…
With that being said, the only original decals I believe I have, are to both doors and door jams, which all seem to be original and with matching frame/chassis VIN’s. I think the only other factory decal I have, is the AC refrigerant and coolant info decal, which is on the upper radiator support (plate on top of hood latch area). |

I believe we have to have that decal if you want a legit smog in our wonderful state. If you want to find a hot smog it’ll cost you, but I wouldn’t recommend it personally. You should be able to get one from your local Chevy dealership.

I don’t think it’s necessary but call and ask around you may find a shop that will do it regardless.
