Cold air intake

Hi guys and gals,
I’m finally getting around to doing a cold air intake and I would appreciate your advice on which one is best. Thanks in advance.

Ted Jannetty tested a lot of them: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107002

in the end you wont feel a lot of it. It sure helps when you are planning further mods. I have a K&N because a friend sold me his' for a few bucks. It sound great at wot...

The best looking one is the CAI covered unit.

I had a K/N with the polished tube and it doesn't hold a candle to the CAI in appearance.

The test mentioned above is the most useful info. Most everything else is anecdotal as everyone can basically tell you about the one they have or have tried. On that note, I have the CAI and am happy with it.

K&N Typhoon for me. When I bought it 14 years ago, not sure the CAI one was out or not yet. If it was, I didn't get it because I didn't want to spend that kind of money, but I believe most of the guys/gals are using the CAI unit, it does look cool! Mine sounds really cool with the high rise manifold I am running.

My personal preference is Roto-fab. I had one of theirs on my G8 back in the day and have had mine on my Camaro for 10+ years with zero regrets.

Great information on the Jannetty test. Interestingly enough I didn't see a Vararam test, which I've always heard was the greatest increase in a NA application.

CAI Brand here with the fresh air scoop and I believe it is a great combo.

Ill be the odd ball out. I did a Halltech. Which in Ted's testing was a top performing intake without a scoop. It isn't the most visually appealing but it works and works good. I'd probably do the black CAI unit if I had to do it all over again though.

Rotofab, do it right the first time and don't think twice.

I would add the scoop at the same time, it's a good combo with the CAI brand.

I had an issue fitting relocation kit from rotor fab, I was going to try the other style that goes up by Master cylinder.
