Real happy with the quality. The screws that hold it together is a plus, also. I’m sure it will last a long time. Without turning to goo…

I’m looking to replace a 4 button fob case with one that will accept the circuit board AND the my original key (switchblade). Whether by using my original entire rotating key assembly or the key itself which can be put into the new fob, via the pin.
Anyone done this lately and have a link to a fob shell? Don’t care if it has a logo, just want it to accept my parts.

Thanks

The button I never push is the one that disintegrated, with the rest not too far behind.

Hey there, I got one on ebay, I got it cut and as a spare key. Put old key in ignition turn on wait 5 seconds, pull out put new in turn on 5 seconds and boom !! all matched up ready to go....under $80 USD all up.

Took me two tries on amazon to get a decent one. One that screwed together and has the chevy logo. I reused my key and just had to re-time the key release/hold. They come with a functioning blank key that can be cut. Seem to be holding up good so far. Gotta find the one with the bowtie on back though Verify with pic of back before ordering...

If you read my post on the 1st page, some of the posts will mention having a logo, or post a stock photo of an OEM keyblade fob, but it'll be a replica. Nothing wrong with that, until you come up close and it looks a bit "off". Just find another donor OEM key, or find a refurbished one online.I typically don't like the refurbished OEM's, however, since most have been used at some point, and you can see marks and scuffs from whoever was prying it apart, to put in the new chip set/board, as well as removing the old key blade for a new blank one.

Not only that, but some OEM ones are hit and miss and don't clasp as tight, especially after they've been opened/pried back up all the way. This is why I mentioned getting an aftermarket replica key, since the ones that come with a logo, usually use a set screw on the back to hold the entire fob together.

I bought 2 genuine GM fobs on ebay for $10 for the set and had everything switched over in less time then it would take me to drive to the closest dealer that can make a new key. My dealer wanted $100 per key, $50 for the fob and $50 to cut it.

$200 vs $10 and 30 minutes of my time makes just changing it out yourself a no brainer.
What vendor on there did you luck out with, for OEM key blade fobs for $10?? That's one hell of a steal. Most that are OEM refurbished, were at least $30-40+ when I checked in the past 2 years, and they were all sorts of used up. They did come with a new chip board and blank key blade, but those were most likely from an aftermarket generic one...

But like my comment said, I bought the aftermarket replica key blade fobs with logos. Those are totally fine, and usually go for like anywhere from $15-25 each, with a brand new, un-programmed chip board. Even better yet, they come with a set screw under the logo that I really like, which keeps the entire fob shells from somehow coming apart. The only down side is that some of the replica logos are kinda wonky, and you need to salvage the original factory badge off of some donor OEM fobs.

Don't do what I did. I checked with my local dealer to see if they could cut a key that I purchased off Amazon. They said they could, then spent over two hours on it. In the end I had to purchase a new one from them and not only pay for that and the service but the two hours of labor on the initial key. It was a total of $400 but I have a fully new functioning switch blade, and I was able to configure the one they messed up so I have two.
