What is up with these lug nut holes?

I bought some ZL1 wheels and they’re the correct size, lug patterns line up perfectly etc, etc…..but there’s no room for a lug nut wrench to get in there to tighten or loosen! Only a regular 7/8 fits just fine. and by just fine I mean it’s a tight fit but moves freely. Does anyone have some insight on this?

A better question. Do I just buy some 13/16 hex nuts? If it’s that simple I’ll be feeling stupid for the next 6-7 hours.

They make thin wall lug nut sockets, I would give them a try.

What I did when I had my M228's on there, and the other brands of wheels I had before.

I should be good. I got some thin wall sockets wrapped with protective plastic. It’ll work.

And I think they do mention that when you buy the wheels? I've seen it somewhere. The cone base of the lugs where it touches the wheel opening is a different angle/taper.

The cool part is when Discount Tire bangs the edge of those with their impact sockets and scratches up your wheels. Had to make them paint some of mine in the past.
