Wing advice for 5th gen

Hi,

I heard that Spoilers are good for drag racing and Wings are good for track day (circuit)

So what you be a good choice for a good Wing for my Camaro 5th Gen 2013 ? Focusing in performance for track day/ circuit

01-)2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro GTC-300 67" Adjustable Wing

https://camarostoreonline.com/produc...gaAh7IEALw_wcB

02-)2010-2015 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE Full Carbon Fiber 1pc Rear Spoiler Style

https://autoaddictusa.com/products/2...-spoiler-style

Any other Wing cheaper ?? Those are kind expensive.

Well THAT'S a bunch of bucks for a wing that isn't going to do you much unless you're going in speeds upwards of 120-160 mph!! The ZL1 and the Z28's were designed for track racing and they only have "spoilers" on them, and they function just fine on the track. So I would stick to that option, and save some bucks. And if you read the mounting on those "wings", you have to DRILL CUSTOM HOLES in your deck lid. Not what you want to do, because then you would have to fabricate a brace to install under the deck lid to strengthen the mounting points. If you want a more aggressive spoiler that works, I and others on here have installed this spoiler, big and aggressive, but not overkill. It can be had in CF, or FG..

I'm with Jewld on this. Both a spoiler and a wing require really high speeds (150+) before you start seeing the performance difference between the two. Until then, you won't see any difference and you won't be going this fast consistently. Just find one you like the looks of the best and go with that one. Just remember, because of how they mount, wings usually require a new trunk lid simply because doing the body work and paint to fill in the holes from the factory spoiler will cost more than just buying a new trunk lid and having it painted.

Yea.. about " DRILL CUSTOM HOLE "

Check this video at 6:21

Man sorry that look terrible. I don't want that. I just saw this video.

What about this one = https://ebay.us/m/TjQ6UG ??

It is not wing.. it is an spoiler.. For me is beautifull and as you guys saying to notice the diference I will need to go up 120-160 mph.. I will probably reach 160mph but just for a few seconds on the track.

I just don't know if that one spoiler that I mention also can improve performance.

Streetfighter LA Rear Spoiler will be my second option.

Any spoiler suggestion that actualy give real performance will be appreciated.

The ZL1 and the Z28's probably will work right ? on my 5th gen.

Well to start off, this one you just posted that looks like the LA Streetfighter one, for 283 bucks, it is NOT REAL CF!! It is just a wrap which has been clear coated!! It's fake. Just so you know. Real CF isn't that cheap, ever!! Also it states in the description "no drilling, cutting or modifications needed. There are bolts on the underside that should insert into the stock holes from the OEM spoiler when you remove it, and install this one. Don't know if you watch any NASCAR racing, but when it comes to spoilers for down force on the high speed tracks, they use a pretty tall spoiler to keep the rear down. Like the LA one I have on my Camaro. The one you posted is like it, just not as tall as mine. And like we stated, the "wings" won't work unless you are doing speeds in excess of 140-160 or above, like the IMSA/WEATHERTECH cars. Here is a pic of mine. The one you are looking at will suffice for your needs, or the LA one, which like I said, is taller.

Yea. I know the one I posted is NOT real CF.
But "looks like" CF and it is cheap.

Streetfighter LA is bigger.. I can see for sure.

There is a plent of videos in youtube for Streetfighter LA.
Seing them, I kind thinkin now, it look great too.

Any measurement was made proving that the downforce made in Streetfighter LA ?

I will probably go with the one that I linked here or Streetfighter LA

What about the this one = https://youtu.be/0n8_mpVUPLc?si=tUj75xSwveREm1wl

As far as I have seen, there hasn't been any testing done on any of these spoilers and wings to measure the actual down force created. But I can tell you that the 5th gen Z28'S,and ZL1's, have run the Nurburbring track in Germany and put down some stellar track times with their stock OEM spoilers, and they will fit your car. So it is a matter of choice as to which do you want to run that will fill your desires. The one you just posted is a GM Factory "high wing spoiler", so they called it when they came out years ago, that will also fit your car. So it's gonna be up to you as to what you want.

What is your speed potential on your local tracks? Be careful adding a rear spoiler based on aggressive appearance. Too much rear spoiler will require adding a bigger splitter up front to maintain high speed stability. A good quality Z/28 style spoiler might be all you need. On a side note, after tires and brakes your first challenge may be keeping that twin Turbo Camaro cool (both oil and coolant) on track if running 15 to 20 minute sessions.

Please check the track map =

It will be in international racetrack of Nelson Piquet here in Brasília, capital of Brazil.

If I am not wrong is a high speed racetrack.

I will probably reach 160mhp+ in some straith lines with my Twin Turbo Camaro estimated with 800+hp on the crank.

About Z/28 spoiler. For me it's beautifull too and as you said I will be fine with it right ?

I will get some front splitter too, one with not much aggressive as I heard with high speeds it needs to be really firm
to handle that high downforce.

Breakes are OK. Tires I will still need to check ones for race, but for now I will drive with normal radial.

On the future I have plans to have oil radiator. When I do track days I normally don't drive for too long.

I am really afraid about high temperature, so I do 2 or 3 laps and stop for cooldown, but in the future, after

my step was completed and "COOLED", I will try more laps consectutive.

Can we assume your suspension is fully sorted out? Because I would offer that spoiler needs are secondary to that. If suspension isn't on point, forget it.

I am just not sure about =Suspension Subframe Mount-GAS Afe Filters

https://ebay.us/m/3QupEF

I want my car good for track day, but I also want to use daily.
My friend told me this kit will make my car on daily drive terrible, as here in Brazil roads are terrible with many many dumps/holes

For sure it will be good for track day, but I will not use my car on track day like every month.

Here is a cool video about those same subframe solid mounts, I have them and love how solid it made the entire rearend. They were originally made by Pfadt Engineering, but were bought out by the AFE company.
