Weld Pro Stars

I would love to see them on a fifth gen. No B.S. rims.

Ah, good old Prostars...I wouldn't put those on anything I owned unless I was building a straight line 1/4 mile race car.

There was a poor guy (2Loose) I used to converse with over on Chevytalk.org that had them on his 1955 Chevy truck and ended up ripping the center parts of the rims out while cornering. These wheels seem to develop cracks in the area where the center spoke section is welded to the wheel hoop. Not sure if it was due a bad manufacturing batch but other people have noticed this with their Prostar wheels as well. Some people have written off 2Loose's Prostar problems as having to due with running them on a 4500lb truck but the Camaro isn't all that much lighter and would likely put more cornering forces on these wheels than his truck did.

Just a thought to consider...

Yah I just read that somewhere else. Definitely straight line, light cornering only. Iwould still love to see them on a car or something close.

Have you guys visited the website? A 15" Prostar series isn't going to clear any 5th gen. calipers/rotors folks. Wouldn't even work without grinding on the 4th gen., Sorry!

I recommend you check out the R/T series.

According to the website: Specifically designed for late model vehicle applications.

Sold ALOT to 4th gen. guys but never considered looking for 5th gen.

I have a message into their tech. line this morning to see if the new R/T series will fit the 5th gen. platform for us folks.

Online catalog: http://weldracing.com/pdf/weldracing4_14_09.pdf

Tech line: 1-800-788-9353 otpion 1 Speak to Gretchen.

Buy the way I order these direct from the manufacturer if anyone is interested.
