There are a lot of Folks who buy cars on a yearly basis and never return to the dealership.
They dont have problems with there vehicles.
I will return to have the oil changed but I will also tell them to NOT put it on the computer for any reason because the car has a aftermarket tune on it and I dont want to lose my tune.

My dealer is pretty mod friendly, I took my car in they know I have a tune they know the mods I have and they didnt void my warranty. So I told Bernie (my tech) that if they reflashed the ECM to let me know to bring my laptop and reload my tune in there and he said there was no need.

This was last week.

Sounds like they did not flash your car then. I would avoid it until your tuner has updated.

The only thing I would caution you on is history shows that an update of this magnitude is for a very good reason. Whoever did your tune will have to change their software to support it. When they do they will more than likely contact you and have you update.

what about a case where someone already received the HVAC re-program then goes and gets a tune after. What would the tuner see and would the tuner be able to tune the car correctly?

Well, what I gather from the Diablosport statement above is that if you got the flash from GM for the HVAC update, then until they have support their tuners or anyone else's will not work on the car.

I find that interesting because I got the HVAC update 4 weeks ago and got Maggie installed last week with a new tune and the car hauls a$$, idles and runs smoother than ever, no ECLs.

We definitely need some clarification from a resident expert on this.

the hvac re-program is just that,, a reprogram of the hvac module,, nothing to do this the ecm or tcm

i work at the dealer and did mine and all it does is re-flash the heater module,, doesnt even care what you have for ecm tuning,, totally different module

My gut was telling me this all along, but it kept getting pushed that it changed everything. So, it was all BS! Good to know.

I'll throw it out there. Are there 2 different things being combined into one issue here. What if there is a fix (which has been) for the HVAC? And... there is going to be a new flash for the ECM, new OS? ..which would include the fix for the HVAC?

..just curious?
