If anything a L99 would be able to compensate better, although it would take some serious modding to make this cam work in an L99. Probably have to get ride of VVT and AFM components altogether. The VVT in the L99 really helps out with the torque and power numbers down low. That's why the L99 has such a fat and flat torque curve and is able to match the LS3 in the 1/4 mile even with 40 less rwhp.

I'm kinda mixed on this cam. I love the numbers up top, but I don't think i could deal with the -50 torque loss down low. I think I'd rather go with a cam that maintained the lower numbers while bumping up the top numbers nicely, although not as much as this cam.

You two will have to meet at Camarofest. While your down low TQ is blowin off your tires, Rick will be leaving you...and how dare you compare the Camaro to a Honda!!!

DEFIANTELY would need an aftermarket Torque converter.

If only I could go. I'll be in San Diego when it happens. If I did though, I'd race him I'd have nooo problem whatsoever putting my Jannetty Racing Supercharged Camaro against his Cincy Speed Cammed Camaro The one good thing about superchargers...you get power throughout the RPM band, not just down low or up top haha

Torque and HP loss is ABSOLUTELY TRANSPARENT. Trust me you do not in any way feel this. Right Rick? All you feel is the thing trying to pull your teeth into your throat.

remember with a supercharger you have about 150 pounds more in the front end of the car! May play a bit since both are about 500whp!

More like 80-100lbs. He got 470ish corrected IIRC. And don't forget about my huge torque advantage all the way through the RPM band Like someone says, horsepower makes you fast, but it takes torque to get there, especially with a heavy car like this.

Also take into effect the automatics are quicker down the track if hp and torque are the same. You can see that with the L99's that make about 370rwhp. They are going down the track in the mid 12's vs stock LS3's going down the track with low 13's.

It's all good though, cause I won't be able to make it anyway. It's nice to dream though Maybe one of my Jannetty Racing supercharged brethren will show up for me

Glad you made it home alright. I was worried about those rear tires! Get with us soon so we can plan your next "upgrades"

We did just order 2 pro-charger kits on Thursday (C6 Vette & 2010, D1SC upgraded) I would LOVE to see you with a custom ground cam and Victorys Turbo kit, but then you do already have your Headers. Hmmm, we are a dealer for Vortech as well. Along with NOS, ZEX, Nitrous Outlet...so many options.

Rick, what upgrades do you have planned next? I think I'll be doing heads, pulley, and ignition next. Anyone have thoughts on MSD coils, and NGK plugs? Do any of you other guys index your plugs? I was wondering if the indexing washers did any damage to the aluminum head, and if indexing was realy worth the time that it takes to do.

Dont worry about the MSD Coils. Not worth it at all. We use NGK TR6s on any header and greater modded LS based car. Also Indexing will not show a huge effect and for the average guy its not practical.
