Now is the time for GM and Ford to dominate. Watch them miss the opportunity to Honda.

I'm starting to think that Toyota has figured that as long as they are down and being kicked around on account of the recall crises, they might as well throw in some smaller recalls for other issues they know about. Perhaps not "worthy" of a recall all on their own by regulatory definition, but the last thing Toyota needs is to get everything "behind them" and then have other smaller quality issues explode violently. Issues that under normal circumstances would have been handled rather quietly and without attention are now going to become major headlines.

Toyota is hurtin' for certain.

Another Toyota Recall...

Recently, Toyota announced two safety recalls that cover some of its models. Both recall campaigns address conditions related to the accelerator pedal. The first recall, "Floor Mat Entrapment," regards the potential for an unsecured or incompatible driver's floor mat to interfere with the accelerator pedal and cause it to get stuck in the wide-open position.

The second recall, "Pedal," is being conducted because there is a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position.

Today, it was announced that Toyota is recalling the Corolla for a power steering issue.

It was also stated (but no recall announced) that the 2010 Prius had a brake issue where there was a "one-second lag" from the time the brake pedal was depressed to when the brakes actually engaged.
