Here is some more about the Halltech in case you haven't seen it yet. You can typically pick it up for $350 shipped.

Oh, for sure. I really enjoyed reading up on all the different air intakes before I decided on the Halltech.

I guess what ultimately sold me was Halltech's guarantee that the "no tune" version was actually a no tune version. And when I heard Jim break it all down in technical jargon and learned a little about him being a real player in the Corvette world, I knew he was the guy that I wanted behind my air intake.

I'm not saying other companies don't have great R&D and cool designs, but Halltech seemed to me to be really top tier.

And I was on the Vararam's second list. I read through their whole page of information on their site and was so impressed and I spoke with one of their representatives at length and he was a really nice and bright guy. I know they know what they're doing too.

I will have my car dynoed soon to see what the Halltech gave me in increase. I'll post an update after I find out.

What is the single exhaust that you're talking about? Where does the exhaust tip come out? If it comes out of one of the holes in the rear of the car, what are you going to do with the other hole?

HAHA, it's not single exhaust, it's SOLO. Solo is a company that sells exhaust. Once you've been here for a while, you'll catch up on the names of the major companies.

If you're interested in seeing a pic of the CAI, Inc one installed, check here (last pic, not the first one)...

Yeah, I could have picked up an intake for a few bucks cheaper, but I really liked the "finished" look that CAI, Inc offers.

I just installed the halltech on my SS yesterday. Getting that heat shield to fit right was much harder than I thought it was going to be. After a few beers and many swear words I got it to where I was satisfied. After that, the install was a breeze. I gotta say it was well worth the effort. When I was done I took her out to some open roads and did some testing. After dropping the clutch at around 4k she was turnin sideways goin down the road. She never had that much get up and go before so i believe the gains that were stated. Also, the intake sounds great. Nasty angry sound under throttle

I don't think so. When I was looking into the Roto-Fab and was trying to decide on the oiled or dry one thing he mentioned is that the dry filter is going to turn color much faster than oiled.

As long as you don't get crazy when you re-oil your filter you should be fine. I'm going to get the K&N recharge kit with the spray oil. That way I'll be able to put a lighter more even oil on the filter.

Also, Halltech mentioned that if we do a light spray job like once a month it will help keep everything cleaner, longer.

"Nasty angry" sounds about right. Enjoy.

That's incredible. Great job. Your ET and mph are great. Why get a supercharger right?
