I did paint the holes after drilling. I used the touch-up paint I got at the dealer. Ya, don't think I want to do the stripes on the spoiler, i like it as it is. If it doesn't leak Ill be happy

Good job guys, great installs.
Just for reference if anyone is interested, SLP has an 'outlet store' on Ebay and sells brand new factory original spoilers (among other parts), because they remove them for their 'special treatment' on the new cars, such as this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...item4a9f58c3db Of course you have to find the right color, but they have quite a few available usually. Just thought I'd give a heads up. |

I was not aware of these at the time I bought my spoiler. I bought mine back in mid March before I took delivery of my Camaro. This would be a great idea since they are factory spoilers. The only issue I see is getting the placement of the holes that need to be drilled in the right location. The aftermarket spoiler uses screws into the spoiler which allowed the spoiler to sit on the deck lid for alignment. The factory spoiler has studs hanging and could make alignment a little more difficult. Just my opinion.

Thanks to all your advice and links to the Spoiler and Video, I installed mine Today
![]() I was very nervous drilling holes in 'My Baby' but after carefully measuring and studying all the direction I went for it. The Color Match was dead on. (can't even tell that it was added on) ![]() I'm very pleased with the look. I did remember to paint the holes, and I didn't even lose any screws in the trunk, ![]() ShadoChaser |

I ordered mine and I was just curious of everything I would need to do to prevent water leakage and rust on the metal?
Thanks |

After drilling the holes I put a couple coats of paint on the inside edge of the hole. I had a can of IOM paint that I sprayed a small amount into a cup and then brushed some on the edge. Two coats. As for water sealing, my spoiler came with a foam pad that went around the hole on the outside. I have seen others use silicone around the screw on the inside of the opening after putting the spoiler on and screwing it down. I plan to add the silicone in the next couple weeks. I just completed a bathroom project and need to buy some silicone and this would be the time to place a bead around the screws on the inside of my deck lid too.
