Hey guys, I am new on here, but like you all have been ANXIOUSLY awaiting the arrival of the new Camaro ever since I saw it at the Chicago auto show. I literally started putting money in the bank the day I heard they released plans for a production model.

I wanted to ask you all, with all of the speculation on a release date, does anyone have any ideas on how soon we can expect to hear an official release date from GM? Does anyone know how soon before a new model is introduced that a car manufacturer will announce it; one, three, twelve months?

If they really do anticipate having this thing ready in 12 months I just want to know how soon before then we can expect to hear a word on it.

If we don't hear anything by SEMA show, I'd say GM has to release at least a tiny bit of info by Christmas. You see, with it taking so much time from concept to production, they have to keep us begging for more. They are going to keep giving us bits and pieces to keep our attention and keep us wanting more. We should hear something in the very near future in my opinion.

i have no doubt in my mind that its goign to come out next year or begining of 08. the challanger is supposed to come out in 08 probably end 07 and chevy's not going to be last in line for this retro muscle car thing. you dont want to come in to the game after its done. there gonna bring it out soon and im sure sema is going to have something aobut it. its the perfecttime for it. one of the biggest aftermarket car shows in the world? when is there a better time?

well like I posted in another thread. the pontiac dealer is saying they will get the firebird no later then 08 now. but that's just dealers talking. can't really trust them. they are back stabing sons of b******. lol. they will say anything to get you to buy a new car and hope that you will come back to them if they say stuff like that. we will see says the box man.

firebird isnt going to be out that soon.if at all. theres not even any say from gm about it coming back yet and if they do they will wait to see how the camaro does first. there not going to put 2 new redesigned cars out on the market and they dont even know how there goingto sell. its going to be a little bit before they briong the firedird out. they are putting all thier money and time in this camaro launch right now. and they wont have the gto out with the firebird if it does come back, and they already plan on redesigning the gto. so firebird isnt in the pic now i dont think

this was straight from the dealers mouth. they were coming out 2008 and the gto was coming out 2. so who knows.

ive had dealers tell me thats they had 03 camaro's on their lot, and of course we all know thats impossible.(dont believe everything someone tells you).there are no dealers that are knowing anything about this. ive found out by calling dealers all over ohio that i know more about it than they do.

Speaking of dealers...When I dropped by the dealer last month and he began by saying, "well, so far GM has released the concept at the Detroit auto show and then confirmed production in August"...I was like...okay, just stop there. Everyone knows this. I'm looking for new info. At least they didn't try feed me crap and say something they didn't know. I called 8 dealers and I think it was only one that said it was coming out in 07.

I believe Mr. Wagoner the CEO of GM has flat out said that Pontiac is NOT getting a Firbird, and they will just have to deal with it.
