I'm sure that if they have to replace the roof and rear quarters they will call it a total loss, not sure how the dent repair works without paint damage but have sean a few repaires done and you would never know, looked realy good. but they can only repair dents so big. good luck glad I don't have to deal with it

i pay around 900 per year full coverage without windsheild, includes loss of use, replacement cost, comprehensive and collision.

as for pictures - if i have time this weekend i will snap a few

I can vouch for this happening. Anything that was central in the city (16th Ave or South of) pretty much got destroyed. My Camaro was in my parking lot at work and got hit with hail, but luckily for me the hail in the NE was tiny and softer. There wasn't any damage. The hail that hit down by North Hill Mall/Foothills hospital area was going through windshields.

My brother's car that was at North Hill looks like it was parked at a driving range for the day.

Sorry to say this, count the hail dents and mark them with a black marker. I moved to Ontario from Dallas, North Texas (North American hail city). Back in the early 90s, a hail storm hit Dallas, hail damage close to 1 Billion dollars, most expensive hail storm in North American history. After that my condo homeowners insurance with State Farm was underwritten by Lloyds Of London for high risk hail damage (tears up home roofs and landscape as well as cars).
No bondo. Replace panels. ALSO, as I understand it in Canada when you attempt to sell this hail damaged car, you must admit to the damage, thus reducing your resale value.
Last, and important, if you have your auto repaired, shop around for best body shops and do not rely on the dealer or insurance approved body shop. I could write a book regarding extremely poor dealer approved body shops paid by insurance (more than 30 years experience with poor auto body repairs).
Yes, I have used 'ding repair services' in the past with good results. But each ding repair cost me about $30 per ding and those dings where extremely minor and did not require touch up paint. If you decide to have dings popped out, you will need to rewax those spots which should be claimed on your insurance.

i will keep you posted on what the body shop says.
my insurance company only has 7 approved shops, after i did some research, only 1 came up as been a quality shop so i am taking it there for an estimate. i might go to some of the paintless dent repair shops to see what they estimate it out at and if it can be done. i will not accept bondo as a sufficient repair unless it can be proven as the only way to fix it.

the body shop said that without seeing it, it sounds like they will cut out the roof and replace it, replace the hood, paintless dent repair on the trunk and fenders and they might have to sand and fill the a and c pillars unless they can get access from behind. the rear quarters should be accessable from behind so that shouldnt be an issue.

well, i took my car to the body shop, they said they will have to replace the hood because it is aluminum but everything else they can get out with paintless dent repair. they will remove all the interior panels to access the dents from behind so they dont require any drilling. will find out price later.

My Mercedes got hit bad by the hail storm in Toronto last year. There were hundreds of dents and every panel was affected. I took it to Mercedes and they quoted me $10,000 to fix it. They were going to do a combination of panel replacement, repainting, refinishing, etc.

My insurance company (TD Insurance) told me that there were about 10,000 cars affected in the Toronto area by the hailstorm and they directed me to a bodyshop which specialized in paintless dent repair. The guy at the body shop told me that they could do the whole thing without painting and when I picked it up...I was amazed. Total bill was about $4600 using the paintless process and you could not tell that they did anything.

As an aside...my girlfriend dinged the door of my Camaro when she opened the door too quickly and banged the door against her car's mirror. I took it back there and they fixed it in about 45 minutes. Its very impressive and I would choose this method over replacing panels any day because it retains the factory parts and paint.
