Mine squeeked for about the first 3000 miles - it was really bad when I was in reverse - only really squeeked during normal breaking was after I was driving a little 'aggressively' on the main roads and then pulled into my development - noticed it when the car would come to a slow stop

Glad to say though 5000 miles are on the car now and it's squeek-free!!

Noticed mine when new. Highly irritating, especially at low speed stops. Completely gone after a track day at 2600 miles. The Camaro seems to get better with proper use...

Just use it hard in the proper places.

You are correct. Light brake use will lead to more squeal. Not everyone will track their Camaro so they need to do an occasional brake cleaning work out. On track we'll bed pads doing a series of stopping exercises. 60 to 20, 80 to 20, 100 to 20 and 120 to 20 without ever stopping and then letting the brakes cool with a gentle lap or two. On the street that would be next to impossible. On a vacant stretch of highway you can do 40 to 20, 50 to 20, 60 to 20 and keep going a few miles to let them cool.
