Dealer Service

Has anyone had issues with GM service when you didn't buy your car from that dealer? I know at one time, this was a real problem from all auto makers.

Warranty work is warranty work - we'd take every customer we can - for a dealership to turn away customers is just plain crazy.

I don't know of any of my out of state customers that had any issues...

Like I told the dealer I take my car to for service, I will probably buy another camaro in a few years, treat me good and that car will come from you. I bought out of state and drove two hours to get my Camaro, I am willing to travel a little to get what I want. I have options. So far they have treated me ok, taking it in tomorrow for a couple minor issues. if they give me any grief I will let ya know

Thanks. We had issues with the Ford dealership a few years back with a company I worked for. The company had a long standing sales relationship with an out of town Ford dealer, and the local Ford dealer treated service for our company vehicles like doo-doo.....Hey...can I still use the word doo-doo at 46 years old?

though it is not a word in the english language I think we all know the translation...so what the heck. Doo Doo it is. I have had my share of dealerships that treated me like crap/doo doo. fortunitely those dealerships got the axe last year, I have to drive a little longer to get service but so far they have been ok.

My old Chevy dealership is where I took my old Firebird Formula in, and they treated me very well and never tried to stiff me with things I don't need... even when I asked about them!

That dealership closed long ago (pre GM bankruptcy, lease issue), and most of the service department went to Ford. I didn't know until I bought a Ford and tried them out, only great service and sales so even family bought a couple more cars from them.

So now, as I picked up a Camaro and planning to stick to the dealer I purchased it from I don't think I'll be getting the same service... the salesman who I bought the car from I'll never go to again...

No problem at all. Each dealer has different quality work and service, however. Whenever possible, I take all my GM cars to Coulter Cadillac for service. They are phenomenal.

I had a problem with warranty work where they put the wrong stitching steering wheel in my car when I wanted a replacement for my ripped leather. They put in a Inferno Orange rather than gray stitching. Same day they did an oil change when I never said/asked for one whatsoever. Happily, they said that they'd just make the $77 charge go away since I never asked for it (had to complain first). Had to wait a week for the new wheel to ship in.
