No derp sherlock. I was just informing him that GM's V8 are OHV and not DOHC like our V6 is. He thinks a modified LS cam would work in our engines.

Actually in your quote you state the only dohc cam engine gm ever made was the aurora motor. So no derp to you too

The only DOHC V8 engine. I was talking about V8 engines, not V6, l6, l5 or L4 engines. Never did I mention it as being the only DOHC engine EVER made. So hurr durr to you.

I'll see if I can maybe clarify his post before this thread ignites. I think he's talking about the brand new direct injected v8s that are rumored to be in the next gen vettes. Not LS, or Northstar...

You can get a decent increase in HP from just doing the porting (and we don't "polish" the ports anymore... they are "textured" to break up the boundary layer) but, without cams to help "pack it in" your not going to see the full potential of the gain in CFM. I'm thinking Don may get 20-25 HP without cams....

Agreed, do we have stock cam specs anywhere? even better if we knew the different specs at WOT etc

Yea I have them somewhere... the max advance with the VVT is 50 degrees... give me a minute to look for the specs
