Got mine in 08/09, around 7k miles the exhaust went, they relaced it all. Almost 27k now and its happenning again. Hope to get it to the dealers this weekend.

my 98 cherokee with 160kish miles almost never broke on me. it really never even gave any problems. same with my uncles lexus.

sorry but i am panicking...
Bro As a lifelong Chevy/car guy

I can tell you for a fact that these cars run one of the most reliable platforms in the entire automotive industry !

You may see a few electronic glitches down the line,

But, Do me a favor and check out a BMW forum, Porsche forum Etc:

You'll see tons of Problems ! And alot dissatisfied customers,

Many mustang, Miata, a few dodge owners nowadays (hybrids) run a chevy motor lol Because they are so damn reliable,

For the last 2 years I've been counting Broken down cars on the side of the road In Los Angeles, Almost all of them are IMPORTS ! 100's & 100's

Most likely to break down 1.Japan 2.BMW 3.Mercedes
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/off-...other-bmw.html

And some of these are Brand New Cars !

I've never seen even 1 Broken down Camaro or Corvette

Not Even 1 !

As far as electronics go

All modern cars develop problems with their electronics

It's usually due to corrosion getting inside the electrical connector via People washing their motors with mineralized water

So, Rest easy and enjoy your car

In a year and a half I've had 2 oil leaks, window indexing problems, and a transmission that shifts very notchy and sometimes won't go into 2nd gear! The oil leaks were fixed, window indexing fixed after 3 tries, and GM is replacing my transmission next week!

With all this I still LOVE my Camaro! When I bought it I knew I was getting an early production first year car so problems are to be expected! My dealership has been a little difficult and condecending but GM stepped up twice on my behalf and seem to be genuinly concerned and willing to do what it takes to help me out!

My advise is to not worry about all the bad stuff! It's like watching the news on TV these days, it's ALL bad, but what you really don't hear is the MAJORITY of good news! People like to air their problems and this forum is a great place to do it! Problem is when we hyper focus on the bad stuff and don't realize that for every report of a problem there's many more trouble free cars out there that we don't hear about!

If we held off on getting anything till it's perfect, we'll never have anything and miss out on a lot of FUN! Get the car, enjoy it, have a blast and get it fixed under warranty if anything does go wrong! I think by now most of the early problems are resolved so chances are that you'll get a very reliable and beautiful Camaro now! Enjoy!

NO, it still under factory and certified through 48k, plus i purchased an extended...

My problems are with the dealer and GM for not dealing with the dealer and dropping the ball. My problems are all fixable and will be fixed through the chevy dealer here.

UPDATE: Since posting I talked with another REP, Stephanie, who was AWESOME. She told me what to do and questioned why the previous rep failed. She escalated the case and told me, "Don't quit calling in". We will see what the supervisor does now!

You know what, don't get a 2010 and get a 2011. As issues where found with 2010's those where fixed and the 2011 have them incorporated. I have #230 of the line, yes she has been in shop. BUT she is a great car and so far nothing has been an issue with drivetrain. All issues where things they found in production and have fixed in mid year 2010 and beyond.

Your experiences will depend on how good your dealerships are, personally mine suck and my experience has not been very good at all, all car companies have lots of junk come from them, I've turned wrenches for a long time and can say they ALL have junk that tears up. Im in the process of canning mine but that don't mean that they are all junk, if you want one go buy one.

A certain number of new cars will have problems. From my personal experience how these problems are addressed depends on an individual dealership and not the brand. Been driving since 1967 and first two cars, 1963 & 1966 T-Birds, were in the shop and shop usually made matters worst. Then a new 1970 Nova SS and from then on almost every new car I have purchased usually had an issue within the first two months, but always was lucky with good dealership customer care. Nova, interior squeaks but resolved, new 1974 Buick convertible, a water leak that took months to fix, new 1976 Eldorado convertible engine replaced within first 2 months, right up to my 1998 Buick Riviera which I still have. The Riviera had a buzz sound that I found distracting. Back and forth with GM for six months and GM finally replaced it with a brand new Riviera, no charge to me. The car I traded on my Camaro was a 1996 Sebring LXI which I loved but from week one had some issues. Wind leak so windshield removed and installed 3 times, sunroof seals replaced twice (resulted in a service bulletin issued), and consistent noise from the suspension at low speed. Finally, and because I was persistent, after more than 3 years and more than 60,000 miles my most current dealership rebuild the entire suspension system one part at a time over the course of 2 weeks, problem finally solved and a service bulletin was issued by Chrysler. No charge to me and I was supplied a free rental car.
Happy to say my 2011 2LT (took delivery 1st week last Aug.) has been back to the dealer zero times. Only have 2,375 miles on it but this week goes in for a free winter inspection only because I received a coupon and when I called a few weeks ago for an appointment I asked them to check the tire seal to rim has as I have had a very slight leak since month one. No problem. Might even use my Cafe voucher, yes my dealership has a Cafe on-site! Perhaps I am lucky or it is just my current dealership that is excellent. My sales experience was excellent, as I talked prices and options for 1-1/2 months before I even agreed to test drive a 2010 model. Closing on the new car, including me going to my bank to get a cashiers check, was finished in under 45 mins.
All I can say is from one dealership to the next, regardless of the brand, customer service can make a big difference in overall customer satisfaction. So far, my dealership has been excellent so therefore I am comfortable that if any issues arise in the next few years I will be treated fair and with respect. As others have stated on this thread, reading posts can give you a skewed concept of quality issues. Any new car can have problems and over the last 4 decades I have had my share of problems with new car purchases. Autos are machines, very complicated machines. The Camaro has no more or no less quality control issues than other brands. If you buy any new auto that has problems, suggest you always be polite, document everything. I can assure you, if I experienced major quality control issues with my 2011 Camaro, I would be fast to share my frustration on Camaro5.
