The clutch will take some getting used to if you've been learning on a different vehicle. However once you master taking off, it's a very easy car to drive as far as manual transmissions go.
The car has so much torque that it is very forgiving if you are not in the optimal gear. Also if I can recommend the short throw shifter option, it makes the shifts feel much more precise and definitive. A tip, if this hasn't been mentioned before (Sorry, it's 230AM and I'm too lazy to read the entire thread) When you get your car, find a nice open lot (or paved area free of any obstructions or traffic) In first gear, without applying ANY throttle, just -s l o w l y- let the clutch out until you feel where it engages. Do this until you can take off without using any throttle. Once you feel comfortable with the engage point, you will feel much more confident in deciding how much throttle you want to apply when launching. Driving a stick is all about *feel* you get to really know your car, you become attuned to the sounds, and vibrations that it makes. Once you get the feel of her, she becomes a part of you. Shifting will become like breathing basically. Sorry for the zen-like moment! LOL Good luck!

Haha, I'm right there with you. Learned on a 74 gmc truck my friend had that was three in the tree. Then I practiced on a 90's sentra. Two completely different worlds, lol

Brings me back to when I learned stick on my first car, a Nissan 240 SX. I just drove in circles in my cul de sac until I got it, which took about a week. Worst part was that I was a high school kid with my first car and I couldn't drive it on the streets during that time! And I'll always remember that first super busy intersection I was in where I was stopped completely waiting to turn left and I was nervous about stalling.

Ive been driving my M6 LS3 for almost a month now, and I still kinda suck at it. This clutch is wicked.
![]() I think my issue is, I don't give it enough gas. Maybe for me, the throttle isn't responsive enough...

I think anyone can learn it easy, it's doing it well that takes tons of practice. By well I don't mean ripping off consistent 0-60 times, but shifting smoothly, etc. I've ridden with people who manually shift so well it's imperceptible, even better than autos.
