Question about Race Ramps

I'm looking to purchase these ramps from Race Ramps:

Will these be ok for my stock 2011 LS? My dad has some ramps now but I'm afraid the clearance isnt enough and will f something up on my car when I use them. I would like these ramps as I'm looking to start doing my own oil changes so I need something to help me get under the car. I dont have a yardstick here so I cant do the trick they lay out on the site and the search on here failed giving me any info.

Should be ok to do O&F it will have the car 8 inches higher.I would think you would not have a problem reaching the drian plug as long your not to big

I am sure those are nice ramps, better be for that money.

I had some extra wood laying around and built my own.

regular ramps will work if you place a 1x10 or 1x 12 2 ft long piece in front of the ramp to lift the car as it approaches the initial incline of the ramp. Only thing you have to watch is to make sure those ramps are wide enough for the tire that we have on the car.

I bought ramps from Autozone.....they work just perfectly for oil changes and even after lowering the car I have decent enough space to go underneath.

Just curious, why do you want race ramps? The ones at Autozone are cheaper and do the same job.

$40. I use the A.Z. ramps and as long as you are careful, they work fine. They do tend to "scoot" a little though...

I dont have any preference Race Ramps or otherwise. Ill take anything that will work. I like the wood idea, you have any dimensions for that? I work at Home Depot so I can get wood basically for free, just find the crap ones and mark them down to the cull $.50 wood haha.

If you got a shop to work out of go with the wood idea that Catman used. Otherwise $40 for Rhino Ramps will do the same job as well

Thank - you, Borrowed the idea from someone else. Works good when the wood is mostly free.

I used 2 X 10. The top piece is approx. 2 feet long. Each piece below was suppose to be 18 longer than the one above it. Making the whole ramp about 78" long. But when you use what you have that didn't exactly work out to plans.

The big draw back to wood is weight.

My Camaro is lowered with Eibach springs and I have no issues with the ramps. I have used them a few times now. Then again I have used the ramps for my truck too.

With the price of wood as it is the Rhino ramps are probably cheaper, unless you work at Home Depot or have some wood laying around.
