Well my set up isn't perfect at all. I like it way better though. You may want to look at Barton, they have a STS that's good as well. But I got my Hurst for $320 shipped and the install was included in the cost of the car so I'm happy. Good luck.

What's this have to do with the op's topic?

Many of us manual V6ers have a 1st to 2nd gear grind. Mine does it on occasion and its a bit embarrassing. And before someone says it, no its not driver error, we have videos documenting it.

With all the problems we've been having a new transmission would have been much better.
What type of transmission fluid was used from the factory? I haven't followed the issue in the manual V6 Camaro's but, the 5.0's that use the Getrag had a similar issue with "cold weather grind" in 1st and 2nd. It wasn't link a "if you can't find em, grind em" grind, it was a clunking grind. A TSB was announced on the 31st stating to replace the manuals lubricant. It took a year for that TSB to be issue as it was deemed more of a nuisance than a mechanical failure/malfunction. I have heard pretty good things about the Aisin AY6 transmission.. I have also heard that Aisin is one of the oldest transmission manufacturers in the world...

Mine never did grind, but it was a little difficult to shift from 1st to second occasionally. I changed out the OEM fluid to full synthetic (Amsoil) and it made a huge difference. 1st to second is now like any other gear. That was 15k or so miles ago.
