So my weight has held pretty steady, but I'm ok with that since I was working out like a mad woman and focusing more on fitness overall than weight loss. Here's a shot of me at the top of the 25 feet high rope wall obstacle at the Warrior Dash last Saturday and a pic of the group after the race. Also attached are some shots of the bruises I suffered on some of the other obstacles (sorry for the giant thigh shots...no idea how to make those smaller in the post)!

^^Looks like fun!!!

Got back into the gym today. Did shoulders and burned 647 calories. Need to really get back into the swing of things. It was VERY nice hitting the weights. I'm MISSED it!

I got addicted to weights when me and Bonnie were younger. I'd literally skip family dinner out on the town to lift weights. God only knows how bad it would have been if I hadn't dislocated both shoulders. I wish I could still do it.

yeah, well I burned 649 calories doing shoulders last night. Come on now, you have no idea how many calories you burned. I'm just glad to see you back in the gym!! You need a good set of shoulders on you.

I was back in the gym last night also, after a wonderful break at the fest. I actually lost a few pounds walking all over C5F, it was good for me. I may have not rehydrated probably that evening in the parking lot, but it's the effort that counts.

So, I have reached a point where I am at a particular weight (about 180) which I am relatively steady at- but if I take one or two days off of my "diet" I seem to gain weight back relatively easy (about 185- I'd have to really pig out for like a week to get above that). Then again, the second I am back in the gym or return to the diet it returns in less than the week. Have I reached a point where I need to go to extremes to lose more?

I wear a Polar watch and telemetry band every time I go into the gym. You plug in your age, weight, height, your VO2, and your resting heart rate.

I don't know of many other ways to tell how many calories you burn. But, the cardio machines that I use which pick up my telemetry band are usually within 30 to 50 calories of each other after 30 min of cardio. I can only guess that it has to be somewhat close.

But yeah...back in the gym and I have high goals. My shoulders, bi's, and tri's are killing me today. One thing I've noticed is that my tricep pushdown weights have really gone up. I'll have to check the weight stack to see how much it is, but I was doing the entire stack....and it felt GOOD.

Most monitors give very broad calculations , they are not accurate but are good for comparing progress etc.

Cardio burns more calories during exercise but the calorie burn stop about 20 min after the exercise does. On the other hand weight lifting burns a good number of calorie during lifting but post workout the calorie burn continues for hours so it's almost impossible to calculate cals burned as a result of lifting.

I've been scarce on here as spring time in a motorcycle shop occupies most of my time. I've been missing a few workouts here and there but I have reached in most cases and passed a lot of my peronal bests achieved before my medical issues which by the way they still have no idea what caused my blackout, may have been a freak thing.
