Number 3 is correct in that it's where the money goes.

Something to think about:

1. We have a free-trade policy with Canada. They buy GM cars and trucks built in the U.S. and we buy GM cars and trucks built in Canada. There are no tarriffs (unlike cars we ship to Europe where a tarriff is assigned by those countries)

2. Number of cars GM and Ford Exported to Korea last year: Zero. (Trade barriers - think about that the next time you look at a Hyundai or Kia)

3. We build Equini, Camaros, Regals, and Impalas in Canada. We build Sonics, Cruzes, Travi (plural for Traverse) Malibi, Silverados, Tahoes, Suburbans, Express vans, Corvettes, DTS, CTS, STS, Escalades, LaCrosses, Lucernes, Sierras, Yukons, Canyons, Colorados, Acadias, and Enclaves in the United States. We build Avalanches, some Tahoes/Suburbans/Silverados in Mexico.

Aveos are built in Korea -- but they are being replaced by Sonic which will be built in Orion township, MI.

4. The men and women of Oshawa do an outstanding job of building cars and trucks. Oshawa has won more "Highest Quality Assembly Plant in North America" than any other assembly plant - therefore -- they earned the right to build the new Camaro!

........... I am PROUD to drive my Canadian Built Camaro-- I know that the men and women of Oshawa Assembly KNOW that they don't just build cars - they build DREAMS!
Amen.....

Buy American made cars is an old cliche. What American brand name automobiles are made in the USA anymore? Nonetheless, I am happy with my hecho en Mexico Dodge Ram and my Canadian built Camaro SS.

I would rather my car be made in Canada than some other country. Lot of good people up there putting their heart and soul in this car.

At the risk of getting too political, here we go... Quite frankly I believe that the American public has just become too accustomed to products made outside the US. It's crazy how during the election the public was calling out for more US jobs, but then just brush it off as "global economy". I work part time for a Home Improvement store (which loves Orange...) and I this topic comes up all the time with the older customers. The younger generation is just used to it. Products won't be made in the USA until the American Public starts to demand it. And I just don't see that happening.

I love my Camaro, and I would love to see them built in the USA. But it didn't stop me from buying it.

American products made in other countries does not bother me as much as outsourcing. How come companies can just outsource American jobs while the unemployment rate is so high? This is fueled by the desire of greedy corporations to maximize their profits. I believe government should crack down on this rather then stupid stuff like online poker or Marijuana (oopsI may have opened another can of worms:( )

I have to agree with the fact that American policies make it difficult for companies to justify keeping the jobs here.

What we need to do is for our policies as a country to change. You are not going to force any company to keep the jobs here if it's not profitable for them. What you CAN do is make things so that it's MORE profitable for the company to manufacture in the United States than it is anywhere else in the world.

Do not begrudge a corporation for continuing to strive to maximize profits and keep their shareholders happy: that's capitolism, free market, and the backbone of America.

But change the policies to where it's more profitable for companies to make things in the States than China, even with their $2.00/day wage or whatever it may be.

GM would build engines on the moon if it was more profitable than Mexico.

This i a very good point.
I have no problem with companies making a profit. This is America, make as much as you can. I do however have a problem with companies making a profit by taking away from the hard working people that make it possible for them to make a profit in the first place.

Everyone should look for and buy Made in USA or UNION MADE products whenever possible. (This is just my opinion. Not trying to start a war).
