autocross or track days????????
ok so I just got some sway bars and new wheels and tires, now I want to track my car, at least a little. I was hoping that some one on here would be able to tell me it there are any good auto cross events, or groups I should join. I am in the south Florida area. Broward and West Palm. rather not have to go down to miami. Also if their are any track days that I can just go drive my car at like Sebring, or PBIR, or Homestead. I really appreciate the information. thanks

It's not just for show either! We had a South Florida meet at PBIR drag strip Friday night... I'm pretty sure I had the quickest V6 there.
Here's a vid of Roxy at Sebring... It is soooo much fun!

I don't do much autocross. There is a group that has regular events down at Homestead. They use the parking lot out front but, I don't remember their name....

If you get with the right group you can do a 2 for 1. I think there next track is homestead on the 20th. Its only $150 if you split it with someone. I too recommend trackweekend.com

Ive done both autocross and HPDE/Track days in south FL. Nothing compares to track days.
http://www.hookedondriving.com/ does a lot of the south Florida track days. They run great events with in car instructors available (included in the price), and they cater lunch. Autocross is fun, but nothing like a HPDE. It's worth it to me. If you budget is that tight, you probably don't want to do either in your Camaro, because they will take a toll on your tires, and brake pads. I got 2 HPDE Track days (and 3-4 thousand street miles). out of a set of tires on my Corvette Z06 (and I will be needing to change brake pads much sooner, probably before my next HPDE). I can only imagine that the Camaro being so heavy would be just as hard or even harder on tires and brakes. Having said that, it's the most fun Ive ever had! Get your finances in order, and go to a HPDE, you won't be sorry! Tim 2011 LS3 |

Next time i go out ill let you know. If you want ill get you a ride in our car. LS# Machine is right. Its not just the race fee that you need to think about. Tire wear, gas, brakes pads and rotors, fluids, food at the track are just some of the things that add up. Save up and then go. Also this can get addicting real fast lol.
